The perk for free subscribers is, and has always been, All The Posts. I want people to read the things I write whether or not they have money, and without having to sign up for yet another subscription to something, and it’s worked out pretty well so far.

A surprising number of you have become paid subscribers for nothing aside from the warm, fuzzy feeling of supporting the Substack. It makes a pretty big difference in my life; believe it or not, it factors into my ability to live in NYC. Hard to describe how much it means to me that you’ve chosen to do this.

It makes me very happy, therefore, to have a small perk to offer paid subscribers: not a post, but five Bluesky invite codes, just below the paywall. Bluesky is to Twitter what methodone is to heroin—it’s not the same, but it’s not half bad either. I was going to send this in a couple days, but with Elon Musk fucking around worse than usual, I thought I’d send it early.

I’ll monitor and edit the post as these invite codes get used up, but please help your fellow humans by:

1. trying the codes in order and

2. leaving a comment that says which one you grabbed, if you successfully grabbed one, so people will know which ones are not taken.
