Keep banging this drum. Sand in the gears of fascism is our best weapon.

A friend of mine, Rafael "RC" Concepcion, created an app to help immigrants know their rights with AI trained on ACLU, LULAC, etc., help them ask and answer questions in a neutral accent while keeping their door closed, and to allow people to report ICE sightings that send an alert to anyone in the vicinity with alerts turned on. It's called DeICEr and is in the Apple Store and Google Play Store. You can also access it through deicer.org, if you don't want to download it. You can find his videos about it on his Instagram, @aboutrc. I think they're all on YouTube, as well.

Well done and all good.

But there is an element missing in general thinking about organized resistance in this piece and just about everywhere else:

We live in a surveillance state in which the government has access to virtually all our data and communications.

And most people ignore this and cede access to their common to the government

They resist so much as using Signal instead of their telco. Usually, they say it’s because it’s too much of an effort to use.

And Signal is the least of it. People are giving up the one critical advantage they could have and will need when the time comes — secure communications — out of sheer laziness.

This has for years been the main reason I fear Americans are not up to the task of resisting fascism.

With the caveat that all comms can be broken, I agree that this is important: making it inconvenient to break your comms means they're more likely to go after someone else

I've had a lot of luck switching people in my life to Signal and I hope that becomes more mainstream. It's easy to use and a great platform

This is just one part of things, to be sure. But tactics evolve and i suspect we'll see more buy-in on all of it soon

I ask myself if I have the courage to do what Ukrainian grandmothers did at the beginning of the war…they had themselves filmed approaching Russian soldiers and filling their pockets with sunflower seeds, saying, “This is so when our Ukrainian soldiers k*ll you and your body falls to the earth, at least something good will grow.”

I also wonder if resisting the way the “flower children” of the 60’s did, with “peace-ins” and by giving flowers to the soldiers, would be another way to go. Asking them to JOIN us instead of hate us.

"Forcibly detransitioning" just means letting nature take its course...not ingesting or injecting hormone blockers, cross-sex hormones, and drugs. Nobody's going to make trans men get breast implants or take away trans women's makeup, high heels, and miniskirts.

Thanks for your opinion; I don't think anyone asked for it if needed it, but I'm sure we all appreciate you taking time out of your day to explain this. I'm on psych meds; perhaps I should come off those and let nature take its course. My friend has an infection; perhaps she should cease taking antibiotics and let nature take its course. Don't go to the hospital when you break your leg, let nature run its course!

That's how you sound. That's what you sound like

Having an infection isn't a body's natural, healthy, normal state. Just like taking drugs and having surgeries to take on the appearance of the opposite sex isn't a body's natural, healthy, normal state either.
